National Night Out
Individual neighborhood associations join with other groups and area law enforcement agencies to design their own programs to help prevent crime. A community-wide event is held in Town Square to highlight Police-Community partnerships.
Ottawa River Clean-Up
Held since 1993 on the fourth Saturday in April, this clean-up is one of the largest events, bringing over three-hundred people out to clean up the banks of the river. Volunteers are assigned a small section, and receive a t-shirt, a certificate of appreciation, and a free lunch.
Make a Difference Day
Neighborhood Associations have participated in this nation-wide event for 21 years. Each interested neighborhood designs a project to be completed on the fourth Saturday of October, or may collaborate on one big city-wide project. Each neighborhood will recruit their own volunteers, supplies, and other items they may need to complete their project.
Neighborhood Tool Lending Program
The Neighborhood Tool Shed is located at the LACNIP Resource Center to better serve the community. A variety of tools, lawn care, painting supplies and materials are available for use by neighborhood association members to conduct much needed assistance, especially for the elderly and handicapped. Items such as lawn mowers, painting supplies, yard maintenance equipment, etc. is available to be loaned.
Candidate Forums

These can include Mayoral, Lima City Council, County Commissioner and other races as necessary.
